  • Swim caps (not a requirement, but if long hair then please tie up securely) [can be purchased at pool]
  • Toddlers/ Preschoolers: Swimming diapers
  • Lock if you want to use a locker (see our lost and found section)
  • Do not bring floatation devices or scuba goggles

We have lockers that you can bring locks to use with. You can bring your personal belongings into the deck with you.

Note about locker rooms: Children over the age of 6 use the locker room appropriate to their gender. Children older than 6 that still require assistance will be allowed to go into the locker room with their parents, however we ask that they use the changing tents. When arriving at EAC, please enter and exit through the locker rooms. The hallway leading from the front office to the pool is for staff only. We have showers, changing tents, and diaper station for usage

You can check in at the front desk. There, you can pay for the lessons if you have not paid yet. On the first day of classes, instructors will call off student’s names on the pool deck- it's a little hard to hear sometimes but instructors are usually good at being in one spot every lesson. If you have any questions, please ask the front desk person or a free instructor.

Registration

  • Event Confirmation: your swimmer is confirm and in the class
  • Event Waitlist: list that sign ups are placed in if class is full. There may be chance students move from waitlist to class list mid month. Waitlists do not roll over
  • Pre-Registration vs Registration/Open Registration: Pre-Reg is for students currently in a class and is active during the month. Registration/Open Registration is a public day for sign ups for swimmers not in our system/ active before our last system change (to Wellness Living).
  • Credit: account holders can be given a credit, one credit counts as one class. Credit only given to permitted accounts after discussing with Staff and in some cases, Management
  • Scholarship: discount program to support our low-income families

Measurements

  • Shallow End: Our three foot end (shortest end) of our indoor pool, usually for our younger swimmers. Where our lessons will normally start.
  • Deep End: Our five feet and more side of the pool. Deep end swimming starts at Beginner 2 level
  • Halfway/ Middle: The blue line at the bottom of the pool going across all lanes. For Beginner 2 swimmers and up. Swimmers should be able to train to swim to that length and back.
  • One Lap: a 50 yards swim, going from one end to the other and then back (there and back). For our Intermediate swimmers and up. Our pool is only 25 yards long (not olympic sized)

Tools and Equipment

  • Goggles: swim glasses that will suction around the eyes to prevent water coming in and should be sized to fit around the swimmers head
  • Swim Cap: swim hat for swimmer's head to hold long enough hair inside to prevent the the hair from blocking the swimmer's vision. Caps need to be sized correctly
  • Kick Board: foam floating tool to support the arms and upper body, allowing swimmers to isolate and strengthen their legs
  • Swim Dowel: stick like tool held in one or both hands to correct swim arm posture
  • Pull Buoy: foam tool squeezed between legs to help isolate the upper body for strength training
  • Hand paddles: swim tool that increase surface area to build strength in the arms, shoulders, and back to enhance stroke technique

Private Lesson

Yes, we do but it’s not a guaranteed thing. We don’t always have space or an instructor available.

How it Works: Once we get your details down, an instructor will reach out to you if they choose to pick up a private lesson. You will both pick a day and time based on both of your schedules and carry on with lessons until either of you decide to stop. Payment is through our front desk for card or cash. If check, please address it to the pool.

Depends on current enrollment status and how many students. Follow below:

1-on-1 Lessons

Enrolled in Lessons: $30 for 30 minutes | $45 for 45 minutes

NOT Enrolled in Lessons: $45 for 30 minutes | $67 for 45 minutes

Semi-Private Lesson (Up to 2 Students)

Enrolled in Lessons: $45 for 30 minutes | $67 for 45 minutes

NOT Enrolled in Lessons: $55 for 30 minutes | $82 for 45 minutes

Anywhere where space is available, best determined by the instructor. Private lessons may be done if it doesn't disrupt swim lesson programming or any rentals. Instructors will get approval from management.

Swim Lesson Systems and Costs

You will need to register EVERY MONTH to stay in lessons- our enrollment does not roll over. There are no automatic enrollments.

Our waitlists do not roll over each month. Our waitlists are there just for students who decide not to continue lessons. Each month, the waitlist will restart for each class. Our waitlist does not have a capacity. If classes and waitlists are full, you can try to check in towards the latter half of the month. We can't guarantee that the waitlist will move often. You do not have to pay to be on the waitlist, you only pay when you move into the class via confirmation from our staff.

There could be several reasons regarding why you can't see and sign up for classes. If not a system issue, it could be when you last registered. If you were not able to get into classes the previous month (a gap month) and were on the waitlist, this changes your status and would require you to sign up on open registration days. If this is not the case, then please call us to sign up. Once signed up, we can figure it out together.

$9.00/class/per person in the month. Amount of classes arise based on the number of days within the month.

Cost Example: in January, there are usually more Tuesdays and Thursdays combined (9 total) than Monday and Wednesday classes (8). So the totals for M/W would've been $72 and T/Th is $81.

Yes! $5.00/class/per person in the month IF you have the qualifying insurance. This would be considered our scholarship program.

Cost Example:  If you sign up for classes on M/W and there are 4 Mondays and 5 Wednesdays, $5.00 x 9 classes = $45.00 per person for the month.  If two people are signed up its $45 x 2 people = $90 per person for the month.

Scholarship Eligibility:

 1. Medicaid or AppleHealth (Molina) card

Please bring the swimmer(s) card (or a picture of it) OR a letter for reduce lunch in when you register for classes and we can note that across all your account(s).

DDA clients

Evergreen Aquatic Center is eligible to host DDA clients . First contact your case manager

Please talk with your DDA case manager prior to coming to the pool. Between the client and the case manager they will decide which program is going to be best for them. If a support staff is needed, classes such as water exercise would be a good option where we will have staff in the water instead of a support staff. Case Managers can contact:

Nicole Nikula (Site Manager)

Lap Swim

Many swimmers prefer to divide the lane in half so that they may each do their own workout, comfortably. The best approach when searching for a lane mate is to find someone that appears to have the most similar swimming ability as yourself. Before entering the water with another swimmer, please sit on the side of the pool and gain the other person's attention. Always stay aware of other swimmers.

If you are having troubles selecting a lane mate, feel free to ask the lifeguard for assistance. If you are having problems with other lap or public swimmers disrupting your swim, please ask the lifeguard to help control the situation.

You are allowed to water walk and/or work on water exercises in your lap lane.

Yes, we have a maximum capacity in the pool. We are a 25 yard, 9 lane pool. We don't fit more than two people per lane usually, but if you are a group together, we can try to squeeze in at least five to six people per night.
