Swimming Lessons

How long does it take to learn how to swim?

Everyone is completely different! Learning how to swim takes time. Progress will depend on goals, comfort in the water, and a variety of other factors. Don't quit or go beyond your current abilities if you/your child remain in the same level for 6 months or longer. In our program we emphasize correct technique in combination with comfort and endurance in the water. Mastering this combination takes time.

How long is each class?

Each Class is 30 minutes. Exception of Pre-Composition which is 60 minutes.

What are the ages for lessons?

Parent-tot: 6 months - 3 years          Preschool: 3 - 6 years       Beginner: 6 - 13 years                                    Teen: 13 - 17 years                               Adult: 18+

Note: We will put you in class based on skills if appropriate.

How much are lessons?

$9.00 per class, per person or pay for the month, per person

Example: If you sign up for classes on M/W and there are 4 Mondays and 5 Wednesdays,

$9.00 x 9 classes = $81.00 per person for the month. If two people are signed up its $81 x 2 people = $162

Note: Number of classes and payment vary based on what the month looks like.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! $5 per class, per person or pay for the month, per person

Example:  If you sign up for classes on M/W and there are 4 Mondays and 5 Wednesdays, $5.00 x 9 classes = $45.00 per person for the month.  If two people are signed up its $45 x 2 people = $90 per person for the month.

Scholarship requirements are for anyone with or who is eligible for:

 1. Medicaid or AppleHealth (Molina) card from DSHS

 2. Reduced School Lunch (Letter from the district)

Please bring their card or letter in when you register for classes and we can provide you with the scholarship.

Note: Number of classes and payment vary based on what the month looks like.

Do I need to get in the water with my child?

Only our parent-tot classes require a parent in the water.

When can I sign up for swim classes?

Public Registration: 2nd to last Friday of the month, please refer to our schedule for the most up to date information. You may sign up for the current month at any time during the month as long as there is a space available.

Note: If these times don't work for you, come in or give us a call and we will set up a time that works best for you.

I want to sign my kid up for the next month, but I don't know what level to sign them up for.

Evergreen Aquatic Center is eligible to host DDA clients

First contact your case manager

Please talk with your DDA case manager prior to coming to the pool. Between the client and the case manager they will decide which program is going to be best for them. If a support staff is needed, classes such as water exercise would be a good option where we will have staff in the water instead of a support staff. Case Managers can contact:
